Easter 2013....An Educational Game.

We didn't really feel like hiding eggs in the backyard.  It was a little windy and ya know, bugs.  So I racked my over tired brain for something we could do with the eggs we filled that could take place indoors.  How about making the kids work for that bucket of sugar and toys?  Each child had to answer 16 school related questions to get to their bucket.  Joey went first with questions like "Name two states that touch Nevada" and "How do you spell Washington?".  In hindsight....his questions might have been a little too easy.
The road to the bucket is paved with questions.

Thinking my questions are toooo easy.
So close....

Then it was Jake's turn.  He had to spell some words, read some words and do some simple math.
sounding out a word

Getting excited to grab the bucket.

Looks like he is sampling the candy in the eggs.

Then came a reluctant at first Josh.  He had to do things like name some letters, count to 10, spell his name and tells us what city he lives in.  Easy Peasy.....
First couple of questions....no problem.

"I got this"

The answer is 5.

Almost there.

Did it!
Questions all successfully answered....go get 'em!!
Stampede

Digging in.

Bubble wand.

Darth Vader M&M fan (will come in handy this summer)

Josh looks like he has T-Rex hands! LOL

And fun was had by all.  Shock at how patient they were.  The rest of the day as spent blowing bubbles in the back, growing water marbles and blowing empty candy wrappers across the living room floor using their M&M fans.  Yep....
